Founded in late 2020 to mark 12 months since the COVID lockdown, C4AC began as a grassroots effort by Scott Robertson, Steve Edgar, and Maddy Ellis to support mental health within the club and hospitality industry.

In 2021, we walked from Coolangatta to Currumbin, raising $42,000 for the Black Dog Institute, uniting suppliers, staff, directors, and managers with one message: mental illness doesn’t discriminate – and no one walks alone.
We did it again in 2022, this time raising $47,000 for Mindfull Aus, and it became clear that our purpose needed room to grow.
So we officially registered as a not-for-profit organisation, allowing us to take full ownership of our mission and continue delivering real impact year-round.

In 2025, we raised more than $90,000 for mental health awareness and support initiatives, helping fund free resources, programs, and community events through Mindfull Aus.

In 2026, we’re walking once more – this time from Burleigh Bears to Burleigh Headland and back on Sunday, August 30, supporting Mindfull Aus. Our goal is to continue raising funds to support free mental health resources and events throughout the year.

Led by a passionate committee – President Steve Edgar, Treasurer Geoff Wohlsen, Secretary Carmen McCluskey, and committee members Greg Hurley, Trudy Schwerin, Kathryn Wright, and Janelle Barraud – C4AC is proud to walk beside our industry and community.

Join us in raising awareness, funds, and hope – because together, we walk with purpose. Register Here
