This Queensland Manufacturing Month, I’m celebrating the small and established manufacturers that help make Burleigh such a great place to do business.

Manufacturing supports nearly 170,000 Queensland jobs and contributes $29 billion to our state’s economy each year.

Coming from a small business background, I understand the important contribution these businesses make—and how much they can achieve when backed by a government that supports them.

Throughout the month, I’ve visited manufacturers across the Burleigh electorate to learn more about their work. Their expertise, work ethic and drive are truly worth celebrating.

These visits also provide an opportunity to connect local businesses with government programs and grants that can help them grow. Just this week, I visited Fresco Cheese, which received $30,000 to support its expansion into the Vietnamese market.
