Gold Coast welcomes 14.7 million visitors

Newly released visitor economy data has provided a welcome boost of confidence for the Gold Coast ahead of the busy summer season.

Figures released by Experience Gold Coast show our city welcomed 14.7 million visitors in the year to June 2026, contributing $8.5 billion to the local economy. International visitation also continued to strengthen, with significant growth from key markets including China, Korea and Japan.

As we head towards summer, the figures provide a welcome dose of optimism. Strong visitation, particularly from returning international markets, is a positive indicator for business confidence and economic activity across the city.

The figures also highlight the Gold Coast’s continued appeal both domestically and internationally. Alongside strong international growth, the city welcomed 8.9 million domestic day-trip visitors and 5.1 million domestic overnight visitors over the past year.
