Hilary has been the Centre Manager at The Pines since September 2012 and was an active member of the Creek to Creek Chamber Committee, which she joined in March 2013. Hilary became President of the Creek to Creek Chamber following the AGM elections in 2015. Hilary guided the Chamber through it's merger in 2016 with the Southern Gold Coast Chamber, when the Chamber was renamed The Greater Southern Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce and Hilary was elected as the new President of the merged Chamber. The Pines Shopping Centre is a leading sub-regional retail centre on the Gold Coast, home to Coles, Kmart, and over 90 specialty tenancies employing over 1,000 locals – including both independent and national retail groups. Along with the owners of the Centre, Hilary represents these retail businesses at the Chamber. The primary consumer trade area for The Pines takes in the suburbs of Elanora, Palm Beach, Currumbin and Tallebudgera. These suburbs make up the catchment of the GSGC Chamber of Commerce. Hilary has been involved in institutional retail shopping centre management for almost 20 years. Hilary’s shopping centre experience started in the UK in Sheffield in 1999. Hilary migrated to Australia in 2004 and has managed Shopping Centres for a number of major institutional owners including most recently AMP. Prior to joining The Pines, Hilary was Centre Manager for a similar sub regional centre at Queanbeyan NSW where she was also a founding member of the Queanbeyan Business Development Board for 3 years and an active member of the Queanbeyan Business Council. Hilary’s involvement with various Chambers of Trades dates back to her time as a Department Store Manager in the UK, where she was an active member of the Moor Retailers Association for 8 years, with 5 years spent as the Associations Chairman. Hilary was also a retail representative on the Sheffield City Forum for a number of years. From 2000-2003 Hilary was heavily involved in Master Planning with the Sheffield City Council for future of The Moor area of Sheffield. |
