May 2013 Breakfast with Mayor Tom Tate

Mayor Tom Tate will be the guest speaker at the breakfast.  Tom Tate was elected as Mayor of the Gold Coast in April, 2012.  

With a civil engineering background, Tom Tate started his career within the construction industry, later moving on to tourism and hospitality.

Tom Tate is an active member of the business community, serving as CEO for the family-owned business, including the Islander Hotel on the Gold Coast and the Sanctuary Resort in Malaysia.  Mayor Tate has held Director positions for a variety of businesses and organisations inclusive of the Gold Coast Turf Club and Gold Coast Rugby.  Furthermore, he was the Regional Chairman and Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland, and a member of the Surfers Paradise / Broadbeach Chamber of Commerce.  

Mayor Tom Tate is committed to Council reform, reducing living pressures of Gold Coast residents, reducing waste and strengthening the Gold Coast's economic base beyond its roots in the construction and tourism industries.

We are looking forward to speaking to the mayor, and the chamber will be conducting a Q&A session with the mayor.
