Karen Andrews MP

Karen Andrews brings her experience in engineering, industrial relations and operating her own small business to her position as the Federal Member for McPherson.
Karen graduated as a mechanical engineer in 1983 and worked at various power stations in Queensland, as well as at chemical and petrochemical sites interstate, where she specialised in design and plant maintenance.
After working as an engineer for a number of years, Karen completed a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and began a new career as an industrial relations advocate working initially in the metal, engineering and construction industries and later in health and community services.
At the 2010 Federal Election, Karen was elected as the Federal Member for McPherson and now represents the majority of the Southern Gold Coast residents in the Parliament of Australia.
Karen is currently a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works and the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Education and Employment.
Karen has been active in campaigning for Fly-in, Fly-out operations to begin on the Gold Coast due to the city’s available infrastructure and ready workforce. She has spoken on the topic in Federal Parliament and continues to make representations to industry to discuss the possibility of developing such operations.

Max Poznanovich

Max Poznanovich is a Business Development Officer with Economic Development at City of Gold Coast.
His background includes various roles in retail Banking. He has also owned a Food Manufacturing company and an Outdoor Advertising business and currently engages in Business Mentoring in the Pacific
for a government aid agency. He hails from the Commonwealth....20 years in South Africa, 18 years in New Zealand and now Australia where he fulfils a fully funded role meeting with South Coast businesses to help facilitate growth.
He will be sharing with us what resources are available from council, state and federal government to help businesses grow.
