Michael Tree, General Manager The Pines Shopping Centre
For over 25 years, The Pines Shopping Centre at Elanora has been at the heart of the Southern Gold Coast community, providing locals with an enjoyable and relaxed shopping experience. The Pines is well known for having one of the best Coles supermarkets in Queensland, complemented by high quality fresh produce from local retailers. With a wide variety of banking and medical services, The Pines has also become a convenient business centre for the immediate area.
To meet growth in the area and the expectations of our customers, The Pines will undergo a $30 million redevelopment. It is anticipated that 240 jobs will be created during the construction phase and a further 340 staff in new and ongoing retail-related positions on completion. This positive impact on the local jobs front will add to the strong sense of community underpinning the philosophy that’s always been part of The Pines.
Michael Tree, General Manager of The Pines will present at the October Chamber breakfast. Details of the proposed development will be announced and there will be an opportunity to ask questions. Michael joined The Pines in late 2009 from his role as Development Manager on the Tweed City project and as a portfolio Asset Manager for DEXUS retail centres in Australia and New Zealand. Previous roles have included management with AMP at Pacific Fair, Mt Ommaney and with Lend Lease’s Homemaker Centre portfolio.
