When it came to building Di Bella Coffee, Phillip Di Bella knew that a point of difference would be the key to breaking into Australia’s highly saturated and competitive specialty coffee market. With Phillip at the helm, what started out as a small roasting operation with minimal start-up capital has since grown to become the largest specialty coffee roaster in Australia (ASCA qualified).
An award winning entrepreneur, Phillip is known for his drive, passion and spirit of excellence. While business success has been a major personal triumph in Phillip’s life, he does not rest on the laurels of his achievements. Phillip is heavily involved in charitable fundraising efforts within local schools and community initiatives, and volunteers his time as a member of a number of Brisbane based boards. As a leader, he constantly strives to inspire others, especially those entering the world of entrepreneurship.
“You need the three elements for leadership to work well, vision, passion and brand,” he says. “Brave leaders know how to bring the best out of people.”
“Leadership is also about having a clear vision identifying exactly where you want to be and how you’re going to get there with people,” Phillip Di Bella says.
“Vision means being passionate about what you’re doing and employing people with passion about what they do. If they’re passionate about their own lives, their own existence they’re more likely to be passionate about what you’re doing.
