March 2015 Breakfast - POSTPONED

The AGM is one of the most important Chamber events to be held each year and this year it will help to form how the Chamber can work for you in the coming year. Many of you attended our last breakfast in February, where Darren Mackintosh, our long time President announced his intention to stand aside as both President and Committee Member.  As a result there will be an opportunity for a New President to be selected and we will of course be seeking a new committee as usual. There are a number of roles which are vital to the workings of the Chamber ;-  President, Vice President, Treasurer , Secretary and Committee Members. None of what we do can be achieved without the part played by all of these roles. Please use these links to reach the form to nominate for the Committee and specific roles and we urge you to ensure that your membership is financial to be eligible to vote, or nominate.

Queensland has just witnessed a surprising turnaround in the State political environment. As a result the Gold Coast is no longer represented within the ruling party and the interests of this area will need to be championed by as many voices as possible and through all channels. It is important that projects such as the proposed Integrated Resort and Cruise Terminal, which was the subject of our last breakfast, is given the opportunity to be fully investigated and tested, rather than being dismissed on a political whim. The Gold Coast must remain vital and represented and that is the role of the Chamber to ensure your voice is heard. There are opportunities for the Chamber to influence at all levels and this Chamber intends to be heard at Local, State and Federal level. To maintain our relevance it is important that our membership is given every opportunity to express it’s opinions, ideas and aspirations.
