My first 12 months as a Councillor and beyond Councillor Gail O’Neill - Councillor for Division 14
Councillor Gail O’Neill was elected Councillor for Division 14 in March 2016. Her division includes parts of Elanora and Tallebudgera and the suburbs of Tallebudgera Valley, Currumbin Valley, Currumbin Waters, Currumbin, Tugun Heights, Tugun, Bilinga, Kirra, Rainbow Bay and Coolangatta.
Prior to her election Gail had extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having been General Manager of the Beach House Seaside Resort and Shopping Plaza in Coolangatta for 15 years. She also held the position of President of Southern Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce for seven years and Chair of Cooly Rocks On Festival for four years.
Previously Gail represented the Southern Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce on Council’s Southern Gateway Advisory Committee and Queensland Chamber of Commerce & Industry Regional Board.
Cllr O’Neill now sits on a number of key Council Committees including Economic Development & Major Projects (Deputy Chair), City Planning, Gold Coast Water and Waste and the Special Budget committee.
Cllr O’Neill is a member of the following boards; Connecting Southern Gold Coast, Council’s Southern Gateway Advisory Committee, South East Queensland Regional Recreation Facility and Tweed River Entrance Sand Bypassing Project. Cllr O’Neill is passionate about balancing progress and lifestyle in Southern Gold Coast.
