2022 Australian Police Bowls Carnival at Coolangatta

Over 100 competitors from throughout Australia will compete for 8 days on the Coolangatta greens.  

This is the first time the carnival has been held on the Gold Coast in over twenty years and the first time ever at Coolangatta Bowls & Recreation Club.

Our event includes an opening ceremony scheduled for 8.30am Thursday 28 April which will involve a competitor march-on supported by the Queensland Police Pipe Band, Mounted Unit, Dog Squad and Highway Patrol as well as the Coolangatta State School Choir.  

Invitees include Mayor Tom Tate, Councillor Gail O’Neill, Hon Karen Andrews and Laura Gerber MP.  We anticipate local Gold Coast television news and print media to attend.

The carnival will conclude with a presentation dinner at Waterside, Currumbin RSL Club on 5 May.

With over 100 competitors plus partners, family and friends attending the eight day carnival and many planning on extending their stay to other Gold Coast destinations, we expect the event to help inject considerable and much needed tourism dollars into both southern and broader Gold Coast businesses.

We have already received corporate support from our hosts, Coolangatta Bowls & Recreation Club and Ocean Plaza Resort however we are seeking additional funding and products, meals and experiences to support our event.

Any monetary funding will be used for event prizemoney and we still have four event championships seeking naming rights sponsors.

Any contributed products, meals and experiences will be used as daily raffle prizes, including for our Police Legacy Charity Day to be held on Wednesday 27 April.

Any contributors to our carnival will be acknowledged accordingly, through either advertising in our event program booklet, presentation night program and/or marketing displays and banners at Coolangatta Bowls & Recreation Club during the carnival.

Please note we have a printing deadline of 31 March for our event program advertising however advertising opportunities both at the event and in our presentation night booklet will be open until 14 April.
