Currumbin Community Champions Awards

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!

Our community is filled with people who go above and beyond for others.

The Currumbin Champions Awards are a fantastic way that we can acknowledge and celebrate some of the great people that make up our community.

From Coolangatta to Elanora, and out to the Valleys, whether it’s an individual, a club, or a business, if they support our community, nominate them as a Currumbin Champion.

Our panel will shortlist 3 finalists in each category, who will be acknowledged at the 2024 Currumbin Community Champions awards evening on Thursday 15 August, where the category winners will be announced.

Nominations close on Friday 26 July 2024 - Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the teachers, volunteers, businesses, organisations and young people who are making a difference in our community.

Young Person of the Year Award:

This award recognises an outstanding young person (under 25 years of age) who has contributed to the local or wider community, or made an exceptional personal achievement.

You could nominate a young person who has demonstrated leadership in youth-led initiatives, inspired others through their actions, or shown resilience in overcoming significant challenges.

Small Business of the Year Award:

This award celebrates the efforts of a local small business who provide exceptional service, run by people who go above and beyond, and supports our community.

You could nominate your favourite small business that has fostered community spirit, collaboration or created jobs for disadvantaged individuals.

Community Organisation of the Year Award:

This award recognises a local community organisation or club, including a P&C, sports club, charity, or any other not-for-profit that does fantastic things in our community.

You could nominate your favourite community organisation that has made a significant contribution and impact on the community, fostered a sense of unity and collaboration, or provided valuable services, support or activities for the community to get involved in.

Volunteer of the Year Award:

This award celebrates a local volunteer who goes above and beyond to support our community.

You could nominate a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to volunteer work, made a significant positive impact on the community, or someone who has shown leadership and inspired others to get involved.

Teacher of the Year Award:

This award is designed to recognise a teacher or teacher aide who has made a difference in the lives of their students or school community.

You could nominate your favourite teacher who has shown exceptional dedication and passion for teaching, inspired and positively impacted their students or colleagues, or contributed to the betterment of the school community.
