Currumbin MP offers support to frustrated locals
Currumbin MP, Laura Gerber, is offering some support in these frustrating and confusing times.
With border updates rolling in hourly and new cases popping up in Qld, border businesses and residents are becoming frustrated with the lack of communication and a confusing on new border passes. Laura Gerber, MP for Currumbin and the southernmost MP for Queensland, is working to alleviate some of this frustration through rolling covering via her Facebook page and offering locals the opportunity to collect a printed border pass from her Kirra based office. Mrs. Gerber posted on her Facebook:
My office can print [your Queensland Border Decleration] for you—at no cost! please get in touch by calling 5601 9100 or via email at currumbin@parliament.qld.gov.au.
Confused border residents have also had their concerns addressed with Mrs. Gerber confirming that you could be fined by police for displaying your Queensland Border Declaration on your windscreen when you're not using it to cross the border, as it obscures the driver's vision. Mrs. Gerber says that:
Some locals have raised with me that they've been pulled over by police for having their border declarations fixed to their windscreen. Please heed the advice and only display the pass when required at a crossing point.
