Currumbin RSL Update from CEO Anne Stovin
This month we have an update from CEO Anne Stovin on what's happening at Currumbin RSL and other related businesses.
Warm greetings for the winter months. I hope this season finds you well and enjoying the cooler weather. It has certainly been a busy first half of the year and we have barely come up for a breath with so many events and new products and services in the pipeline.
As a group we have focused our attention on building our membership and refining our offerings. We are delighted that Alleys restaurant has a new winter menu and a revised wine list to match. We are also super excited to now be offering ESports on Monday nights. The main priority for the next few months is to ensure we also deliver some great promotions such as June Jackpots $4k Giveaway, Cash Crackers $6k Giveaway in July and Snakes and Ladders with $6k to be won in August.
Our entertainment also has something for everyone with the fabulous Passioni Vocali dinner and show on 26 July for lovers of opera and The U2 Achtung Baby show on 6 August for those who like to rock. Back by popular demand is An Evening with Spirit on 29 August and you’re looking for side splitting comedy, we have Fiona O’Loughlin in Soundlounge on 24 August and the Faulty Towers dinner and comedy show in October. Check our events section on the website for all of our weekly Main Bar and Deck Acoustics entertainment with incredibly talented local artists.
In regards to our other businesses, check out the recently renovated Dune Café. Andy, Tahlia, Brigit and Hayley do an amazing job in delivering fantastic products and services in an awesome location at Palm Beach Parklands. Ignite is also having a great year with so many students currently participating in training. The trainees in the white shirts that you see at the Club have done a course at Ignite and are gaining valuable workplace experience.
Our Ron Workman OAM Veteran Support Centre (VSC) and Young Veteran Support Services (YVSS) continue to provide professional and supportive services to our veteran community. The VSC focus on advocacy and welfare while the YVSS concentrate on employment, health and wellbeing and social activities. These essential services would not be possible without your support as revenue from the Club goes toward funding these programs.
In closing I want to thank our Currumbin RSL family for their ongoing support and I’d like to welcome our new members. With so much on offer, come and hibernate at Currumbin RSL this winter!
Warm regards,
Anne
