Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary takes out the top Training Award!
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary was 1 of 11 businesses recognised at the South East Queensland 2022 Queensland Training Awards last week, taking out the region’s ‘Medium Employer of the Year’ title.
The iconic Gold Coast tourism attraction is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year, after the first opening to the public in 1947 as a small-scale lorikeet feeding display known as the Currumbin Bird Sanctuary.
Owned and operated by National Trust Australia (Queensland), Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has been recognised for its extensive, individualised training programs to suit a workforce across multiple industries.
Currently, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has 19 school-based trainees, 36 employees engaged in accredited vocational training, and 77 vocational students completing their training on-site.

In September, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary will join other regional winners at the State Final in Brisbane.
