ESHS Community Chaplaincy Dinner - 5 September 2024

Elanora State High is excited to announce their upcoming chaplaincy dinner, which aims to further their mission by securing their Chaplain, Hugo, for an additional day at ESHS in 2025. This event is crucial for expanding their reach and providing more support to the students who need it.

Hugo Brouste, School Chaplain at Elanora High School, would like to invite you and your colleagues to the Community Fundraising Dinner they are hosting on the 5th of September 2024.
Currently, the Queensland Government only provides funding for chaplaincy services for one day per week in schools. Any additional hours provided to children is due to the support of locals and businesses.
The chaplaincy service provides a safe place for students to talk through different issues and situations they are facing. Chaplains are trained to provide care when students are facing many issues, but common issues they work through with students are bullying, anxiety and family breakdowns / conflict resolution.
At Elanora High they also run programs such as a supportive drumming group. This provides a focussed and interactive space while students open up to discuss the social and emotional issues they are facing in their day-to-day life. They also run Breakfast Club on Thursday mornings for the many students that go without food in the mornings.
Elanora High would like to continue and extend the Chaplaincy services at the school, but this does depend on the support of local businesses. New partnerships with locals will help continue current services while providing the opportunity to extend services.
There will be over 100 locals attending the dinner with representatives from different businesses, community and government groups. ESHS is seeking financial sponsors for the evening, with a key opportunity to promote businesses before, throughout the event and afterwards.
If you would like to reserve some tickets for you and your colleagues, Hugo can be contact by emailing hugo.brouste@suchaplaincy.org.au.
