Global Wave Conference 2020 Confirms International Keynote Speaker
Next year’s Global Wave Conference has been given a huge international boost with the addition of Mark Taylor the Ocean X Submarine Man for David Attenborough’s Blue Ocean documentary series.
Patron of GCWSR and former World Champion Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew AM welcomed the internationally renowned cameraman ocean conservation explorer.
“Having Taylor as a key speaker will enhance the international credibility of the Conference. His work with Attenborough's popular documentary series is well known around the world and we look forward to watching his valuable ocean conservation vision," said Bartholomew who will also be a key speaker at GWC 2020.
“Next year's Global Wave Conference will bring the smartest surfing minds in the world to the Gold Coast to seek outcomes and solutions for the many issues facing ocean pollution.”
National Coaches from Surfing Australia Bede Durbidge and Kim Crane have been confirmed in the speaker’s line-up shedding light on Australia’s preparation for next year's surfing event at the 2020 Olympics in Japan.
Gold Coast World Surfing Reserve President Andrew McKinnon has invited all WSRs to take part in this significant international ocean conservation event. “There are 11 World Surfing Reserves of which three are in Australia. We would like to extend a warm welcome to our International World Surfing reserves to participate with us.”
Global Wave Conference is managed by Save the Waves coalition, Surfrider Foundation USA & Europe, Surfers against Sewage and Wild Coast. Gold Coast World Surfing Reserve is the local host organisation for Global Wave Conference 2020.
Registration for the Global Wave Conference is available on the website www.globalwaveconference2020.com.au and is open to the public and University students seeking to submit papers and journals.
The 6th biannual GWC 2020 event will be hosted at Gold Coast Campus, Southern Cross University from the 10th – 14th February 2020.
