Have your Say on Proposed City Plan Changes
The City of Gold Coast has opened consultation on amendments to the City Plan. Southern Gold Coast locals are urged to view the proposed changes and have your say on shaping our unique part of the City so that our region continues to grow in line with the expectations of local residents, visitors and businesses.
This is the third major update for the City Plan since its introduction in early 2016. The proposed updates covers height and density, environment, built form, urban design, diversification of employment and land use improvements, with a major change proposed to simplify building heights to be set only in metres, removing references to storeys. Some building height limits on the Southern Gold Coast will be reduced from 15m to 12m.
For the first time the entire city plan has the building height map covering every property on the Gold Coast - which you can view here.
There will be a number of consultation booths with City planners and other staff to answer your questions and to take feedback at Southern Gold Coast shopping centres and markets, including:
- Burleigh Heads Stocklands: 10 October 2019
- Palm Beach Currumbin Farmers Market: 12 October 2019
- The Strand at Coolangatta: 16 October 2019
The first round of consultation closes on 25 October 2019. View the fact sheets of what is proposed to be changed here or watch the video below.
