Iconic New Venue ‘The Homestead’ Opens on the Gold Coast
Contemporary, new wedding and events venue, 'The Homestead’, has opened its doors nestled amongst the scenic backdrop of the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, as part of the award-winning attractions’ newest, multi-million-dollar tourism precinct.
With its modern design, inspired by a traditional Queensland Homestead, and a menu utilising locally sourced produce and ingredients, The Homestead has already been inundated with bookings for weddings and significant corporate events.
“We’re delighted to be opening the doors to The Homestead, the centrepiece of the most significant investment towards a new precinct in the Sanctuary’s 75-year plus history,” says Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary General Manager, Travis Couch.
“This is a unique and high-quality event space, and we know there is a strong demand for a premium venue like this on the Gold Coast,” he says.
Designed in collaboration with global leisure and entertainment company Pico Play, the 841 sqm venue features versatile indoor and outdoor spaces, and state-of-the-art audio-visual technology. It is located a short distance from Gold Coast’s domestic and international airports, ideal for weddings and bespoke corporate events.
The venue is complemented by an alfresco dining area, overlooking the iconic precinct, which will be open for Sanctuary guests to dine at daily, casually, from Wednesday May 29.
“Each year at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, we are visited by over 600,000 domestic and international guests including some 25,000 members from across the local region. We look forward to offering all our guests a new and truly unique dining experience that captures the essence of Australian hospitality,” says Mr Couch.
The venue’s distinctive menu features a selection of gourmet dishes inspired by Australian flavours and produce. Ingredients sourced from the local region, include fresh seafood from the nearby Pacific Ocean and locally sourced herbs and vegetables from Currumbin Valley.
“The concept of paddock to plate is at the forefront of our dining experience at The Homestead, to ensure our dishes are reflective of the region whilst keeping in mind our heritage and the community,” says Mr Couch.
The Homestead completes phase two of the brand-new themed precinct, following the opening of ‘Outback Springs’, unveiled in late 2023. In addition to enhancing the guest experience, The Homestead also plays a strategic role in supporting Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s charitable causes and its mission to conserve and protect Australia’s natural and cultural heritage.
“A venue like The Homestead provides a fantastic opportunity to come together and create memorable experiences in an impressive and picturesque setting, and what better place do that than right here on the Gold Coast,” said Mr Couch.
