Jonathan Fisher appointed as CEO of Binna Burra Lodge
The Board of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) has announced the departure of CEO Jonathan Fisher after 12 years of service beginning at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and over the last 6 years as CEO of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland).
The Board of Binna Burra Lodge has confirmed the appointment of Jonathan Fisher as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment takes effect from 01 June 2020.
‘Jonathan is an experienced CEO with a demonstrated history of working in purpose-driven organisations’ said Steve Noakes, Chair of the Board at Binna Burra Lodge. ‘We are absolutely delighted he will be joining us as our senior executive as we prepare the foundations for the next 100 years of Binna Burra providing access and enjoyment to the world heritage listed Lamington National Park here in south-east Queensland.’
‘At Binna Burra we have been closed since the devasting bushfires in September last year and now we all have to deal with COVID-19 impacts, so we need a special type of senior management leader in these turbulent times as we reset, reimagine and recreate the spirit of Binna Burra. And that’s what we have secured with Jonathan’s appointment’ said Noakes.
Jonathan is departing 12 years of service at National Trust's Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and over the last six years as CEO of the National Trust of Australia (Qld). The Board of the Trust has recognised the many achievements during this time and has wished Jonathan every success in his new role as CEO of Binna Burra Lodge.
“It has been an absolute privilege to serve the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) these past 12 years,” says Jonathan.
“Binna Burra’s cultural landscape is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register. It is an iconic site so I look forward to staying connected with the Trust in this challenging independent role.”
The National Trust Board has appointed Jayme Cuttriss as Acting CEO and confirmed that Michael Kelly will continue as General Manager of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
