Member Spotlight: Best Hopes Counselling Services
Striving to deliver solution focused therapy, this local business aims to ensure its clients can reach their full potential.
Starting her professional life in Hobart as a Barrister, Solicitor and Partner of a successful Family Law firm meant that Dianne C Ayling had seen some at their worst. Dianne, passionate about finding a way to help those facing difficult times, moved on in her career and studied Solution Focused Therapy; the principle that only the client really knows what works for them and how they can repeat what worked. From here Dianne began her new business: Best Hopes Counselling Services. The pandemic is causing anxiety, worry and stress for Queenslanders and people across the globe, some feeling the challenge is made worse by manditory isolation and social distancing. Dianne believes the challenge is in the meaning we give to it.
If we see challenges as something to overcome, we allow them to limit our success. But if we see challenges as something we are capable of accepting, then we can see ourselves as powerful, not powerless.
Dianne continues to advocate for her clients, and beyond, to remain connected where possible and remeber the ancient shamanic principle which states that the measure of truth is effectiveness. Much like visiting the gym, Dianne says the going it alone is almost certain for failure but going with a friend is almost certain success. With the recent announcement that our borders would close again, business owners are again under incredible stress and finding it hard to see an end to this crisis. Dianne encourages our readers to embrace the work of Kazuo Inamori; who said: "The results we achieve in work and in life: = attitude x effort x ability".
So my Tip #1 (for "attitude") is:
Go back to your "Why" Spend time revisiting, reinventing or revising your "Why" for your business. Many people feel fear in these times. The trick is not to try to remove fear, but replace it. Replace it with your "Why''.
Tip #2 (for "effort"):
Devote all your efforts to living fully every second of every day and stop worrying about tomorrow. It's the best way to realize your dream.
Tip #3 (for "ability"):
We all have limiting beliefs and doubts about our ability. But the great thing about ability is that it can always be added to. And always remember, that beliefs are not truth, as beliefs change with experience, while truth does not.
