Member Spotlight: Classic Holiday Club

Classic Holidays have been providing leading timeshare services across Australia and New Zealand for over 40 years. As a family-owned business, the team service over 40 resorts and represent 65,000 member families under management. However, with a business spanning across the country and across international borders and the with the world facing COVID-19; it's no shock that occupancy rates have been dropping and this business has begun adapting. 

For the full year 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020, Occupancy rates compared to the previous year (2018/2019) had reduced from 95% for both resorts, to 73%. This shape change in occupancy meant the team had a very short timeframe to implement many necessary  changes. Denise Price, Resort Operations Manager, was faced with the hard decision to Cancel Bookings; Notifying guests that they could not holiday due to resort closures and subsequently rebooking them after the resort reopened if they were in the area where they were permitted to holiday. Post-COVID shut down meant Denise and her team were again on the front foot; Implementing online check-in processes to reduce time/people in reception at any one time, with changing border (state and international) Denise implemented a strict monitoring and reviewing by staff of incoming guests home addresses to ensure compliance with regulations and re-organising the operational plan to change hours worked for staff.
