Member Spotlight: Prestige Service Training
Prestige Service Training creates career pathways through industry-leading, innovative and inspiring training programs which empower people with opportunities to succeed in the life they choose.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, vocational training and upskilling has become a central part of the state and national recovery. There is no avoiding the importance of upskilling and retraining at a time where new and technologies begin entering the average Australian Workspace. Prestige Service Training stands out as one of only a handful of training providers able to offer a complete face to face program of training that is nationally recognized, with some having university articulation agreements.
The team at Prestige Service Training, however, have had to face a challenge in itself; where hospitality and tourism drive for the greatest move toward upskilling, it also faces the greatest damage from COVID-19. Teigan Thew, Chief of Inspiration and Creativity, admits that the toughest challenge was that School-Based Trainees had their places of work closed and while some were able to reopen and commence, others were not so lucky. A sad fact of the pandemic and in juxtaposition to the need for upskilling and vocational training within the industry.
Though the closing of workspaces didn't deter the team, however, they adapted. Prestige Service Training was quick to take to the world of technology and move learning to ‘online virtual classrooms’. But their support didn't stop there with Study Gold Coast working alongside Prestige Service Training to deliver sponsorship for students doing it tough. Here the students were able to apply and explain what they would use the sponsorship towards.
We were able to sponsor almost 20 students. We were able to provide money towards items like food, internet bills, stationery (including desks, laptops etc.), transport and more.
This forward-thinking and adaptable business believes that "we're all in this together" is more than just a slogan and it includes your ability to adapt while supporting others through the same purpose.
