New times parking restrictions - Coolangatta, Currumbin and Rainbow Bay

Rainbow Bay -

The timed parking restrictions will only apply Saturday’s,Sundays & Public Holidays 9am - 5pm

Commencing Monday 1 February 2021, changes to the current parking arrangements in Coolangatta, Currumbin and Rainbow Bay will be introduced to manage high demand for car parking.

Change of parking management measures in Rainbow Bay:

1. Implement 3P (three hour) timed parking, effective Saturday, Sunday and public holidays for:

• Ward Street (except for additional loading zones, short term and disability parking spaces)
• Marine Parade
• Tweed Terrace (adjacent to Café Dbar)
• Apex Park
• Pat Fagan Park.

2. Implement 4P (four hour) timed parking in Snapper Rocks Road effective Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.

3. Realign/implement additional short-term parking along Boundary Street adjacent to the Ward Street commercial premises (e.g. loading zones, 30min and 2P timed).

4. Formalise angle parking along Boundary Street, Coolangatta.

5. Investigate installing additional bicycle racks on the corner of Marine Parade and Snapper Rocks Road.

Coolangatta -

Commencing Monday 1 February 2021, changes to the current parking arrangements in Coolangatta, Currumbin and Rainbow Bay will be introduced to manage high demand for car parking.

Change of parking management measures in Coolangatta:

1. Implement 3P (three hour) timed parking along Marine Parade between McLean Street and Hill Street (includes changing existing 2P (two hour) timed parking to 3P (three hours).

2. Implement 4P (four hour) timed parking in the Queen Elizabeth Park carpark adjacent to McDonalds on Marine Parade.

3. Change timed parking in McLean and Dutton Streets from 1P (one hour) to 2P (two hours).

4. Change timed parking in Boundary Street to include all days of the week.

5. Implement 3P (three hour) timed parking management measures at the northern end of the Chalk Street carpark.'

Currumbin -

Commencing Monday 1 February 2021, changes to the current parking arrangements in Coolangatta, Currumbin and Rainbow Bay will be introduced to manage high demand for car parking.

Change of parking management measures in Currumbin:

1. Formalise parking along Murraba Street with marked bays (no time limits are proposed).

2. Formalise kerbside parking along Pacific Parade adjacent to the commercial precinct, with marked bays.

3. Implement 3P (three hour) parking on Pacifica Parade, between the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club and Murraba Street.

4. Implement 3P (three hour) parking along Pacific Parade, north of the commercial precinct.

5. Implement 3P (three hour) parking in the carpark adjacent to the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club.
