Updated flood information for QLD based Property Council Members (at 1 March 2022)
- Brisbane River to peak at 3.7m at 9am Tuesday
- Registrations for volunteers to help clean up now open
- A range of financial support is available for those impacted by the floods
The Property Council extends its thoughts and best wishes to those impacted by the emergency flooding event in South-East Queensland. Updated information on the event is included below.
Flood levels
The Brisbane River peaked at 3.85m on Monday and is expected to peak again at 3.7m at 9am today.
Mud Army 2.0
Volunteers are being called up for the Mud Army to assist with the clean up following the flood. The clean up effort will focus on locations across the city, helping residents and businesses inundated with water.

Financial support
Residents across the 26-flood affected LGAs can now apply for financial support. This includes residents in Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Redlands and Toowoomba.
The Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP), a non- means tested payment of $1,000 per eligible adult and $400 per eligible child is now available for people impacted by a flooding event.
Residents in these LGAs can also apply for the Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) which helps businesses and employees who experience a direct loss of income as a result of a major disaster.

Additionally, residents who have been impacted by the flooding can apply for an Emergency Hardship Assistance grant of up to $180 per person and $900 per family to cover the cost of essential items such as food, medication and clothing. To find out more, please click here.
Schools
Selected state schools in the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Lockyer Valley LGAs will begin to reopen.
However, all state schools will remain closed across the following LGAs on Tuesday.

- Ipswich City Council
- Moreton Bay Regional Council
- Somerset Regional Council
- City of Gold Coast Council
- Logan City Council
- Redland City Council
- Scenic Rim Regional Council
- Gympie Regional Council
- Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council
Public transport
Queensland Rail services will remain suspended on Tuesday and possibly for longer due to damage to the network.
Bus services on Tuesday would run to a Saturday timetable.
Ferries remain suspended and the Brisbane River is closed to all vessels.
