QLD BORDER UPDATE: Closures Announced
Today, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk & Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young announced all of NSW and ACT as COVID-19 hotspots. Please see the below outline of new changes soon to implemented:
Commencing 1am Saturday, August 8:
Queensland borders will close to:
- New South Wales; and
- Australian Capital Territory
All visitors will be denied entry with few exemptions. Returning Queenslanders will have to pay for 14 days mandatory quarantine in a hotel. Residents of border communities and essential workers will still be able to cross.
