Return to Stage 2 Restrictions for Southern Gold Coast
The Queensland Government has advised that there will be a return to Stage 2 restrictions for 5 LGAs in Queensland for two weeks from 4pm today (Thursday).
These restrictions will apply to the following LGAs from 4pm Thursday 30 September:
- Brisbane
- Gold Coast
- Moreton Bay
- Logan
- Townsville and Palm Island
These restrictions are expected to be in place for two weeks or until Queensland Government advice changes.
Face masks
- Masks must be worn in the workplace at all times, even when social distancing is possible
- Masks will need to continue to be worn everywhere, except if people are at home or outside exercising in the same household
Businesses and events (including restaurants, cafes and convention centres, etc)
- Indoor - 1 per 4 square metres or 50% capacity for ticketed events
- Smaller venues up to 200 square metres - 1 person per 2 square metres or up to maximum of 50 people
- Outdoor - 1 person 2 square metres
- Must be seated at all times for drinking and eating
- 100 people at weddings and funerals
- Only 20 people allowed to dance at weddings
Indoor and outdoor events
- Major Sport Stadiums - 75% ticketed and allocated seating for stadiums over 20,000, with a COVID Safe Site Specific Plan. Patrons must wear a mask at all times.
- Indoor events - 75% allocated seated and ticketed capacity for indoor events (with COVID Safe Site Specific Plan) or 1 person per 4 square metres and 1 person per 2 square metres outdoors
- Outdoor events - 75% ticketed and allocated seating or 1 person per 2 square metres including amphitheatres. Dancing is not permitted
Movement and gathering
- A maximum of 30 people allowed to gather in public spaces
- A maximum of 30 people are allowed in homes, including the people that live there
