| The Back to Work program is designed to give businesses the confidence to employ Queenslanders who have experienced a period of unemployment. Support payments are available to eligible employers who hire a previously unemployed Queenslander who has experienced a minimum period of unemployment directly prior to commencing work with them.
The program is available throughout regional Queensland and in areas of South East Queensland (SEQ) experiencing significant labour market challenges.
Employer Support Payments and Youth Boost payments are available to eligible employers who meet all the program eligibility criteria.
The program is not a wage subsidy. The decision to employ someone is at the discretion of the employer and must be a business decision that is independent of the availability of the Back to Work support payment.
SMALL BUSINESS SHORT COURSES Short micro-credential courses available to support employers to recruit and retain their employees. | Find out more >> |

Industry 4.0: Driving Sustainable Manufacturing - Gold Coast Australia has a target to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 so changing the way we work to reduce our carbon footprint is at the forefront of business conversation.
Delivering emissions reductions and working towards net zero is a complicated journey involving many difficult decisions and potential actions. Combining action on net zero with action on smart tech, data management and support for green recovery is the way forward. Thinking about them together from the very beginning and how they complement each other, will help build your success in the future.
Join us and learn from Brett Spicer, Sustainability Partner at BDO, how to take the first step towards recording and improving your carbon footprint. This session will help manufacturers:
- Gain an understanding of Scope 1,2 and 3 emissions and how to measure, monitor and report on them, including developing practical and measurable targets
- Identify tools to help collect data, calculate emissions and apply carbon offset accounting techniques
- Develop an understanding of the regulations and standards in Australia and internationally
- Understand the importance of reliable connectivity and stable IT frameworks to maximise emissions data integrity.
Cost: Complimentary

INDIGENOUS BUSINESS MONTH |
| To Gather, Together
Gathering is at the heart of building relationships. We gather to seek solace, to seek feedback, to find information and inspiration and to generate friendship and connection.
By gathering together, we challenge ourselves to broaden our minds, think anew, brainstorm solutions and act differently for better futures. It is in the spaces we create when we gather, that we connect and uplift one another in times of pressure and stress.
Strengthening our Indigenous business sector requires strong relationships at a local level, through gathering and exploring the crossovers between what’s happening in our businesses, in the community and in our personal lives. A rich tapestry of connections, information, ideas, and opportunities are woven each and every time we gather.
Therefore, in October 2023, Indigenous Business Month calls upon communities and Indigenous businesses To Gather, Together

Business Chamber Queensland knows business, and we know that attracting, hiring, and retaining the right people is one of the biggest constraints on business growth. To help employers address the labour shortage, we are proud to deliver the Workforce Evolve program, a Queensland Government funded e-learning program designed to help employers think differently about who they hire and how to retain them in the future.
Within our community there are many who are motivated to work, or work more, but who have historically been under-represented in the workforce. These diverse groups include women with family or carer commitments or escaping domestic violence, First Nations Peoples, the LGBTI community, those with disabilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, and mature aged workers.
With some changes in approach and the use of inclusive employment practices, the Workforce Evolve program will help employers develop a recruitment strategy to unlock a new segment of job seekers from these under-represented groups and in doing so, enrich their organisation with the right skills and diverse contributions.
Delivered via 6 fully online, flexible modules, Workforce Evolve will give employers the skills they need to make the most of this diverse and inclusive workforce. Each module includes the option to book a Coaching Session with a Workforce Coach for personalized learning support at each stage of the program.
The program is FREE, and open to any employer in Queensland.
