Something ROARsome has arrived at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s new experience, Extinction Trail, has been 100 million years in the making! A permanent, immersive outdoor adventure, Extinction Trail’s special effects and lifelike models will transport you to a time when dinosaurs and megafauna ruled the earth!
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary General Manager Michael Kelly said, “If you think you’ve already seen every animal at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, think again! We wanted to unveil something big for the summer period; Extinction Trail will excite new guests as well as returning local visitors.”
Meet the quirky Muttaburrasaurus, an enormous Austrosaurus and a fierce Velociraptor.
In addition to walking with dinosaurs, Extinction Trail will take guests on a journey to learn about the enormous descendants of creatures that still exist today. So how will you measure up beside a Giant Wombat, a Marsupial Lion or the Demon Duck of Doom?
Michael said, “Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the only place on the Gold Coast where you can see life-size dinosaurs and megafauna. It will amaze you to see the ancient creatures that have evolved into the wildlife that call our Sanctuary home today!”
Aspiring archaeologists can unearth dinosaur fossils, get up close to eggs and bones, and even see a giant scale-model skull of a T-rex!
The project received grant funding via Destination Gold Coast from the Australian Government, a $1 billion COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund initiative under the Recovery for Regional Tourism program.
The breathtaking experience is free with the price of admission to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. www.currumbinsanctuary.com.au
