St. Helens Bar & Kitchen: Almost ready to welcome you back
While Chef Jess tinkers with the menu and Front of House Manager Brendan sets the tables, locals wait patiently for a chance to get back into everyone's favourite bar & grill.
As restrictions are easing it’s never been more important to shop locally on the Southern Gold Coast and support the small businesses we all love. Boasting its title as the jewel of Kirra Beach, St. Helens Bar & Kitchen are looking forward to getting back into serving some of the best burgers on the coast by Friday the 5th of June. Front of House Manager, Brenden Hayes, won't give to much away but has admitted that "Chef Jess has tinkered with the menu due to the seating restrictions, trying to simplify our offerings and to do some weekly specials as well as our magnificent burgers". Brenden says he is looking forward to when the restrictions are eased and people can just come in and have a lazy beverage, we will start up our weekly live music. In the meantime, the team have been focused on their take away business which means installing an ordering app on our site as well as UBER deliveries. "There is a 'Lunch in the Park' weekend takeaway special being formulated at the moment as well".
It's been a tough road for everyone but it's not over yet. Border businesses are facing an even tougher battle with the Queensland Government extending the border closure up to September and maybe beyond. St. Helens Bar & Kitchen is not immune to the effects of this decision as they remain reliant on a certain amount of tourism as part of their trade; usually encouraged by being in a beautiful beachside location with such great accommodation close by. Though the team admits "It's going to be tough going for a while, but with the support of the local Southern Gold Coasters I think Kirra and Cooly will come out the other side of this stronger and smarter".
