TRAFFIC ALERTÂ - Tugun
There will be a temporary full road closure with detour of O'Conner Street (between Wyberba Street and Toolona Street) Tugun to facilitate stormwater connection.
The closure will be in place from Monday 18 January to Friday 29 January from 6.30am to 6.30pm (weather permitting). The closure will not be in place Saturday, Sunday or Public holidays including Saturday 23 January to Tuesday 26 January inclusive. Emergency and Local access will be maintained.
TRAFFIC ALERTÂ - Bilinga
There will be a temporary half road closure (eastbound) with a detour of Lang Street Bilinga for a concrete pour.
The closure will be in place from Monday 18 January (contingency dates 22/01, 27/01 or 29/01) from 6.30am to 6.30pm (weather permitting). Emergency and Local access will be maintained.
Private Seawall Works -Â Tugun
Private seawall construction works are scheduled to commence today at 347 Golden Four Drive, Tugun. The works are expected to take approximately 2 weeks to complete (weather permitting). All works will adhere to the City's Hours of Work.
Works include:
Works are required to construct a certified seawall in front of the property as required by the property's Development Approval.
The contractor will maintain public safety around their site, including appropriate warnings about the closure of the Oceanway.
There will be no impact on beach users as the works will be contained to the dunal area.
The contractor has obtained City approval for the works, including the temporary closure of the Oceanway seaward of 347 Golden Four Drive.
The contractor has obtained the required State approvals for the construction of the seawall, including the removal of trees and vegetation within the seawall construction footprint.
The works involve the demolition of the Oceanway, excavation of sand, construction of a seawall and the delivery of rock armour via Golden Four Drive.
The contractor is required to complete reinstatement works (including Oceanway reconstruction) and to revegetate the dunes following works.
The contractor has paid a security bond to cover any reinstatement requirements.
Works will require the closure of the Oceanway at this location. Pedestrian diversion signs are in place to advise public users that the pathway is closed ahead (as per an approved Traffic Management Plan).
