CRIME ALERT
TO ALL Southern Gold Coast residents, the police have advised that there are reports of an individual offering to repaint house numbers ( displayed on resident's gutters) for a cost of $50 with a receipt being issued upon payment.
The individual is claiming the works will assist emergency services to identify properties.
Please make note that this individual is not a City of Gold Coast employee and the activity has no association to Council works.
Footpath closure |Â Griffith Street
The Griffith Street footpath (between McLean Street and Warner Street) will be closed to facilitate electrical works for one week between Monday 19 April and Monday 3 May from 9pm to 4am.
A pedestrian detour will be in place.
Footpath closure |Â Lang Street
The Lang Street footpath (between Golden Four Drive and Pacific Parade) will be closed to facilitate assembly of awning, roofing and gutters and construction of new footpath. Works are scheduled to commence next Monday 19 April to Monday 19 June.
There will be a pedestrian detour in place on the opposite side of the street.
Water Service Announcement
Local Currumbin Waters residents - a planned water shutdown is scheduled between 9am and 2pm Tuesday 13 April. Streets affected include: Teatree Avenue.
Footpath closure |Â Currumbin Oceanway (Pacific Parade)
The shared path (between Cooinda Avenue and Tomewin Street) will be closed for seawall construction and path rectification works commencing next Monday 19 April to Friday 25 June 2021.
There will be a detour in place for pedestrians.
Notification of works | Coolangatta
The City will be undertaking maintenance works on the recent landslip which has occurred on Rutledge Street.
The scope of maintenance works includes:
- Prepare landslip area by removing vegetation
- Install soil nails
- Install shotcrete protection
- Remediate road pavement and kerb
For safety and access reasons the road between 40 & 52 Rutledge Street will be closed for vehicular traffic commencing today Tuesday 6 April and Wednesday 28 May. Vehicular traffic will be affected by reducing access to a single lane. A detour will be in place. Signage has been installed to notify motorists about the changed traffic conditions. Traffic control will be in place to direct pedestrian traffic around the work area and to facilitate emergency services access should it be required.
Council are making considerable effort to minimise disruptions, however local residents may notice construction noise and dust at times.
