JOHN STRONG COMMUNITY AWARD
John Strong was an inaugural member of the Men of League Foundation Tweed Gold Coast District when it was formed in 2004. In 2009 he became President of the Men of League Tweed Committee and remained as President until his unfortunate passing in 2018.
In 2022 The Men of League was rebranded as the Family of League. Our purpose remains the same irrespective of the name change, viz “Caring for the Men, Women and Children of the Rugby League Community”.
To honour his service and dedication to the Family of League, and many other community organisations over many years, The Family of League Tweed Committee established the “John Strong Community Award” to acknowledge outstanding community involvement by an individual, or individuals, for significant community service.
This award will be presented at the Tweed Gold Coast Family of League’s Bowls Day at Coolangatta Bowls Club on Sunday 25th October 2026.
