Member Spotlight: Kirra Beach Hotel - The best seat in the house

With sweeping views of the Gold Coast, located directly across from world renowned surf break, Kirra Beach, you will have to agree that Kirra Beach Hotel has the best seat in the house.

Established in 1956, the Kirra Beach Hotel has long been a favourite amongst locals, sports stars, visitors and families. The hotel & sports bar has seen its fair share of challenges since its original opening but GM Greg Hodge admits, COVID-19 restrictions and requirements remain its greatest challenge.

Mr Hodge explains that the need to educate our patrons and staff on the operational procedures put in place by the government is easier said than done. Though this mammoth effort isn't made any easier with border restrictions remaining in place with little certainty surrounding an easing date. Mr Hodge says that "Initially it affected our income through the Drive-thru and Liquor barn, we are 200 hundred meters to the border and a lot of our loyal customers live in NSW. It also affects staff coming to work because of the long wait at the border crossing.

Even in the face of adversity, however, this Gold Coast classic sees a bright future after the border is open and restrictions are removed, saying that "We will be contacting our members and patrons by Phone, Social Media, Radio and also word of mouth as a way of encouraging locals to come on back and enjoy a cold beer with that historic view.

The Kirra Beach Hotel is Open Tuesday - Saturday lunch 11:30 - 2:30, Dinner 4:00 - 8:00pm with take away available. Bookings are essential, you can learn more via their website.
