State Update with Laura Gerber MP – July 2026
Small and family businesses are the heart of the Southern Gold Coast, creating local jobs, supporting our community and driving our local economy. That’s why the 2026–27 Queensland State Budget is investing in practical measures to help businesses grow, employ and succeed.
This Budget delivers $11.5 million over the next three years to help small businesses build a skilled workforce through micro-credential training, alongside $16.8 million to strengthen the Small Business Support Network, giving business owners access to financial counselling and wellbeing support.
A further $10 million will deliver a new program supporting businesses to adopt AI solutions, helping them remain competitive and thrive in an increasingly fast-paced world.
Through the continued rollout of the $100 million Small and Family Business First Action Statement, we’re cutting red tape and making it easier for businesses to access government procurement opportunities. We’re also continuing the rollout of the $40 million Secure Communities Partnership Program to help improve safety and protect small businesses from crime.
As your local State Member, I’m committed to backing our local business community. If there’s unnecessary red tape making it harder to run your business, or if my office can assist you with a State Government matter, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
