Accessibility opens new opportunities for business

The Gold Coast’s tourism success has been built on delivering great visitor experiences. Today, accessibility is playing an increasingly important role in ensuring more people can confidently explore and enjoy our city.

Experience Gold Coast has just released the second edition of the Gold Coast Accessible Visitor Guide, providing independently assessed accessibility information for accommodation providers, attractions, transport options, services and facilities across the city. The updated guide includes more than 40 accommodation providers, over 30 attractions, accessible transport information, and a dedicated section highlighting accessible events held throughout the year.

The guide reflects the significant progress being made across the destination, including more than 300 accessible accommodation rooms now available on the Gold Coast. This gives visitors greater confidence, comfort and independence when planning their stay.

For the Southern Gold Coast, this presents an opportunity to continue building a reputation as a destination that values inclusion, accessibility and quality visitor experiences. From accommodation providers and tourism operators to restaurants, retailers and event organisers, every step towards greater accessibility helps create a more welcoming and inclusive region.

As our city continues to grow, initiatives such as the Gold Coast Accessible Visitor Guide demonstrate how accessibility and economic development can go hand in hand, delivering benefits for visitors, businesses and the broader community.
